12 Story Facts: Rumpelstiltskin
1. The young women is held prisoner by the king due to her father claiming she can wove straw into gold
2. The young women is in despair as she knows she cannot complete the request which will result in her death.
3. Rumpelstiltskin disguises himself as a mannequin saying it will help for a price. The young women is able to pay until she is left with nothing. The mannequin then request the first born child, she accepts. The king makes the young women his queen.
4. The queen gives birth to her first child and Rumpelstiltskin comes back for payment. He says if she figures out his name she can keep her child. She tries many times to guess his name but fails, so Rumpelstiltskin gives her one more chance when he returns.
5. Rumpelstiltskin returns to his home in the middle of the forest.
6. He begins to celebrate and dance around the fire. Singing praise to himself about what he has done.
7. A man happens upon Rumpelstiltskin celebrating outside his house and decides to spy on him. Overhearing him gloating and saying his name.
8. The man rushes off to the queen to tell her what he has heard from Rumpelstiltskin.
9. The man arrives at the castle before Rumpelstiltskin and demands to see the queen.
10. He tells the queen Rumpelstiltskin name, she rejoices that she will not need to give away her child.
11. Rumpelstiltskin finally arrives and demands the child promised to him. She pretends a couple times to not know his name.
12. The queen finally tells Rumpelstiltskin his name and he leaves the castle in defeat.
